Oreo Fudge Cool Whip Pie

Updated on July 22, 2015

Quick and Easy Oreo Fudge Cool Whip Pie

It's hard to imagine a better list of ingredients, so it should come as no surprise that this recipe is AMAZING! It is always a huge hit every time I make it - cool and light, rich and decadent. And the greatest part is that it is extremely simple to make and only 4 ingredients. It should only take you about 15 minutes tops to put the pie together, and then it just sits in the freezer for about 4 hours. It's a great alternative to ice cream or cake, especially for chocolate lovers. :)

Ingredients

1 container of Cool Whip

1 large or x-large dark chocolate bar

1 cup crushed oreos + extra for garnishes

1 pre-made oreo crust

Step 1: Ready the Chocolate

The first step in this recipe is to break up your chocolate bar in a microwave safe bowl. You can also melt it on the stove if you prefer, but I find the microwave easier and I tend to be less likely to burn the chocolate. However, you do need to make sure to only microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between. It should only take a couple of minutes for the chocolate to become fully melted - smooth and soft.

Step 2: The Oreos

While the chocolate is in the microwave, you can start to crush up 1 cup of oreos. I tend to get the bag of mini oreos so that there are less leftovers in the end, but you can definitely use regular as well. The oreos should not be overcrushed - big chunks are great in the pie.

Once the chocolate is done and the oreos are crushed, you want to mix them together. It is important to mix these two ingredients up first, before you add the Cool Whip, because it keeps the oreos a little more crunchy and adds the taste of chocolate covered oreos to the pie. The oreos should be totally covered in chocolate before moving to the next step.

Step 3: The Mixture

Once the Oreos and chocolate are properly mixed, you want to mix in the Cool Whip. It is best to mix these together thoroughly, otherwise the pie will freeze unevenly.

Once you have mixed the Cool Whip into the chocolate Oreo mixture, you are ready to pour into your Oreo pie crust! Once the mixture is in the crust, just smooth out and add some additional crushed Oreos as a garnish.

Step 4: The Final Product

Once your extra crushed Oreos are on top, you've finished the pie! Now all you need to do is let it sit in the freezer for about 4 hours to freeze. Keep it in the freezer in between servings, but you may want to let it thaw for about 20 minutes before cutting yourself a piece. Enjoy!
